we’re here

take action: complete the survey. 采取行动:站出来,完成问卷调查

As we begin our journey to reclaim our narrative and fight against systemic profiling, the first and crucial step is to write down our experience.

You’re not alone

Have you wondered why you must endure months and years of indefinite scrutiny just because of where you were born? It’s not a crime to be born Chinese, yet we face constant examination and suspicion, treating our very existence as a threat. This unjust scrutiny of our lives, our bodies, and our identities echoes the harmful stereotype of the “yellow peril.” It’s time to stand up, share our stories, and organize our community.

How to Get Involved

  1. Complete the survey / 站出来: We need data. How many of us have faced unjust security screenings which lead to indefinite delays for our immigration applications? Step forward and declare your experiences. Your voice matters.

  2. Share your story/ 讲出来: How have these delays impacted your life, education, and career? What personal toll has it taken on you and your loved ones? Share your story with us through our survey for an opportunity to make your story heard across Canada. Your truth is powerful.
  3. Joins our organization / 加入组织: 140 years of political invisibility won’t change if we stay passive, if we stay quiet. The old way of working hard and not asking questions has not worked and it will never work.

There is no point in tripping over each other to stay ahead in a rigged game, we are only stronger when we be there for each other, in solidarity.

Our Vision

Canada prides itself on being a multicultural mosaic, but for too long, our community of Chinese immigrants and Chinese Canadians has been invisible, at best an afterthought, at worst the “yellow peril” to be feared and scrutinized. Today, we stand together to change that narrative. We draw strength from our ancestors who faced Chinese exclusion 140 years ago, because 140 years later the otherization of Chinese bodies is still part of Canada’s DNA. We are going to build a future where we truly belong, with our rights, voices, and humanity respected.

We are not spies, culprits, or “yellow peril.” We are parents, grandparents, children, and friends, with hopes and dreams just like anyone else in Canada. We are humble and hard-working, but that does not equate to weakness. We are part of the fabric of this colonial project built on stolen land, and together, we are going to build a community of solidarity and care, and we will start with our own’s.
